Jess and Chris were married in the lovely coastal setting of Sorrento in June.
The couple’s elegant civil wedding ceremony was celebrated in the San Francesco Cloister, a pretty and peaceful cloistered courtyard, with architectural features dating from pre-Roman through Arabic to Medieval and decorated with pretty flower beds.
Jess and Chris’ stylish white and green toned floral decorations and flower arch added perfectly to the rustic garden setting of the Cloisters.
Having exchanged their wedding vows and wedding rings, under the arch of flowers, on their exit from the Cloisters, Jess and Chris were greeted by their guests with bubbles and rose petal confetti.
Jess and Chris left their guests to enoy the surrounding while they wandered through the streets of Sorrento, stopping for photographs in some of the lovliest spots in the town’s historic centre, including a brief stop at Attanasio – with the kind permission of owner Luca Attanasio – a charming shop filled with beautiful antique curiosities and collectables.
The newlyweds also visited one of Sorrento’s most characteristic monuments, the Sedil Dominova. Built in the 15th Century, originally as a meeting place for the local nobility, the atmospheric historic structure features graceful 18th Century frescoes on its walls.
Jess and Chris then joined their guests for their wedding reception at the Grand Hotel Royal, a 5-star historic hotel in the heart of Sorrento. Welcome aperitifs were served on the hotel’s magnificent cliff top terrace, overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
The main wedding banquet was served on the hotel’s newly-created wedding terrace, a graceful, tree-shaded space just above sea level, offering breath-taking sea views, especially during the stunning sunset. In fact, Jess and Chris’ special day was the first wedding to be celebrated in this lovely setting!
Pre-dinner speeches were an especially touching moment with lot of laughter and an occasional tear.
During a pause in the delicious dinner, Jess and Chris wandered down to the hotel’s private beach for photographs as the sun began to set before the cutting of their delicious tiered wedding cake framed by the stunning sea view.
