VILLA PITIANA, FLORENCE

Natasha & Mark

Wedding in Florence at Villa Pitiana

Natasha and Mark married in a unique inter-faith ceremony, at the historic Villa Pitiana, near Florence.

The couple personally-designed the very special ceremony, blending Hindu and Jewish wedding rites to honour their respective heritages. During the ceremony, in an elegant salon, Natasha’s mum celebrated the Hindu wedding rites, while Mark’s dad celebrated the Jewish rites.

The couple wed under a flower-decorated wedding canopy, representing the Hindu Mandap and Jewish Chuppah. Guests witnessed the couple’s commitment, offered blessings of love and happiness in life, then welcomed them into their new families.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed delicious aperitifs. Later, the wedding banquet was served in a beautiful white marquee, on one of the villa’s lawns.

As guests entered the marquee, they found a ‘Memory Tree’, hung with photographs, items of memorabilia and little white lanterns.

A seating plan in a vintage suitcase helped guests find their seats, where they discovered  individually-designed caricatures of themselves. Guests shared smiles and laughter at their own caricatures and those of fellow guests.

After dinner, Natasha and Mark cut a macaroon-decorated traditional wedding cake, accompanied by a marvellous, artistic creation of brightly-coloured macaroons!

Then, Natasha & Mark took to the dance floor, for their first dance.  A specially-formed band, featuring members of the wedding party, accompanied the couple.

After just a couple of dance moves however, Natasha & Mark joined the band on stage. The couple hijacked the microphones and rather than a first dance, they performed a fabulous first song!

The couple performed the B-52′s classic track ‘Love Shack’. Natasha and Mark chose a first song, rather than a first dance, in homage to Mark’s love of karaoke.

Guests loved this unusual touch and soon everyone joined in, to sing and dance the night away!
