Elena & Alexey married at the Borgo di Castelvecchio, a tiny Medieval village set in the Siena coutryside, in Tuscany.
The Borgo di Castelvecchio is made up of ancient, stone farmhouses, carefully restored to peserve the original architecture and materials. The main villa, set in a large Italian-style garden, dates back to the 11th century.
Elena and Alexey held their symbolic wedding ceremony on the Borgo’s panoramic terrace, with its breathtaking views across the Siena countryside. Pretty, vibrant floral arrangements decorated the wedding terrace.
Nine flowergirls, including Elena’s daughter, accompanied the bride down the aisle, while the couple’s ring-bearer was Elena’s son.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed aperitifs and canapès in one of the villa’s elegant salons. Meanwhile, amidst the occasional light April shower, Elena and Alexey strolled for photographs around the flower-filled gardens. They also visited the charming structures and captured the stunning views offered by the Borgo.
The newlyweds held their wedding banquet and cake cutting in a large marquees on the Borgo’s main square. Then they performed their first dance, as the light faded across the beautiful Tuscan hills.
After the first dance, the children at the wedding performed a mini-concert for the delighted guests, particularly Elena & Alexey. Then, the newly-married couple and their guests danced the night away.
