Nicole and Patrick (Pat) were married on the enchanting island of Capri.
The delightful and fun couple, who are from the United States, had first visited the island during a Mediterranean cruise and fell in love with it. They imagined a wedding there would be an utterly sublime and dream-come-true experience but joked that marrying on Capri just was something far too glamorous for ‘normal people’ to do!
Well, Nicole and Patrick’s dream did come true and their wedding was an utterly and indisputably glamorous event!
The couple celebrated an intimate symbolic wedding ceremony and wedding reception dinner for their closest family members and friends at the renowned Caesar Augustus Hotel.
The Caesar Augustus is a 5-star hotel, perched on the cliff edge an impressive 1000 feet above sea level, at the entrance to the charming town of Anacapri and boasting breathtaking panoramas, especially during sunset.
Nicole & Pat’s romantic and emotional wedding ceremony was celebrated on the hotel’s cliff-edge Infinity Terrace by the statue of the Roman Emperor Augustus for whom the hotel is named.
The wedding setting was decorated with delicate floral arrangements and scattered petals in white and pale green.
After exchanging their vows and wedding rings and making their bridal exit, Nicole and Pat shared a celebratory toast and received hugs, kisses and best wishes from their wedding party.
During post-ceremony aperitifs, while guests enjoyed the fabulous views and tasted the delicious drinks and nibbles, Nicole and Pat visited some of their favourite spots on the island, travelling in chic style, in a vintage red FIAT Cabriolet taxi.
Nicole and Pat stopped in Capri’s bustling and colourful main port, Marina Grande, before driving along the winding island roads to the charming little town of Capri where they wandered through the busy, vibrant streets on their way to the Gardens of Augustus.
The Gardens of Augustus -formerly the Krupp Gardens - are terraced botanical gardens overlooking the sea and offering a 180-degree panorama of the island, featuring Mount Solaro, Marina Piccola, and the famous Faraglioni.
The couple stopped for a refreshing iced lemon granita drink and creamy lemon-flavoured ice cream close to the gardens before walking back through the streets of Capri to the cheers and applause of locals and tourists alike.
On their return to the Caesar Augustus, Nicole and Pat took advantage of the spectacular sunset to capture photographs by the hotel’s pool which overlooks a stunning seascape.
The couple and their guests then sat down to an intimate family dinner featuring the hotel chef’s creative interpretation of traditional island, and regional, dishes made using typical local products and ingredients grown in the hotel’s kitchen garden.
After dinner Nicole and Pat cut their tiered lemon-flavoured and lemon-decorated wedding cake and shared a champagne toast with their guests.
As guests sampled the delicious wedding cake and the buffet of cakes which included a wonderful selection of scrumptious cakes and sweet delicacies, Nicole and Pat danced their romantic first dance.
Wedding planners Federica and Valentina of The Italian Wedding Event made all of Nicole and Pat’s wedding day dreams come true and created a truly unforgettable and once-in-a-lifetime event for this fun, friendly and fabulous couple!
