Shelley and Anthony exchanged ‘I do’s in Sorrento on a mid-May afternoon.
While Shelley, accompanied by her bridesmaids, prepared for her wedding day at the Grand Hotel Favorita in the centre of the pretty seaside town, Anthony and his best man enjoyed a pre-wedding pint on the scenic Marinella square in nearby Sant’Agnello.
Shelley and Anthony’s civil wedding ceremony, celebrated in the San Francesco Cloisters, included a reading by Anthony’s son Nathan, and the exchange of beautiful wedding rings, designed and made by best man Dan.
The couple spent a little time wandering through the streets of Sorrento, stopping in a local leather-making and wood-carving shop where, for good luck, according to Italian tradition, they cut a tiny hole in Shelley’s veil using a pair of very old – and precious – scissors belonging to the shop owner.
Shelley and Anthony then joined their guests at their wedding reception venue, the Villa Antiche Mura where they were served delicious aperitifs on one of the villa’s terrace while admiring the breathtaking coastal panorama.
The couple took advantage of the villa’s balconies, gardens and private walkway down to the sea, to capture beautiful photographs as the sun began to set.
The couple’s gala wedding dinner was served on the villa’s dining terrace, followed by the cutting of the elegant, tiered, wedding cake before Shelley, Anthony and their guests took to the dance floor for the wedding after-party!
