Connie and Daniel were married on the Sorrento Peninsula on a lovely late-May afternoon.
Connie got ready for her wedding day accompanied by her parents and bridesmaids at the Hotel Cocumella in Sant’Agnello near Sorrento, a beautiful ex-Monastery and luxury hotel.
Connie and her dad travelled to the wedding ceremony in fabulous Italian-style, in a vintage white convertible FIAT 500.
Connie and Dan’s wedding ceremony was held on the sea-view terrace of the Villa Fondi di Sangro in Piano di Sorrento, a historic villa and pretty gardens perched on a balcony over the sea and offering spectacular views across to the Bay of Naples.
After the ceremony Connie and Dan visited Sorrento’s charming and characteristic Marina Grande for photographs. The little fishing port is one of the couple’s favourite settings in Sorrento and they stopped to visit – and share a celebratory toast – with the owner of their favourite local restaurant on the marina, O’ Puledrone.
On arrival at their wedding reception venue, the wonderful Villa Antiche Mura in Sorrento, Connie and Dan joined their guests on the white Infinity Terrace, with its breathtaking coastal views. The couple and their guests enjoyed delicious nibbles and aperitifs and an extra special treat, a traditional ice-cream cart offering delectable local gelato!
Connie and Dan’s gala wedding dinner was served on the villa’s red Infinity Terrace, as the sun set spectacularly over the sea.
After dinner and a selection of hilarious and emotional speeches, the couple cut their wedding cake – complete with wonderful cake toppers of the bride and groom created by Connie’s mum – framed by the hearts and lanterns hanging prettily from the terrace’s shady trees.
There was a special surprise for the couple – in particular Dan – in the form of a congratulations letter from Arsène Wenger, the manager of Dan’s favourite football team, Arsenal. The letter, which had been arranged months before by a close friend, was framed – in a red frame, of course – and placed in suitable style, on a second decorated table, close to the wedding cake!
After Connie and Dan and their guests had sampled the delicious cake, the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance before being joined there by their guests for the remainder of the evening’s fun!
