Idyllic & Intimate: An Amalfi Wedding Event
Susan and Mark celebrated their intimate wedding event in the seaside town of Amalfi in the elegant and idyllic surrounds of the NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi, a fabulous hotel, and converted ex-monastery, perched on a coastal cliff-edge. T
he couple were married in the hotel’s 8th Century consecrated church, which was beautifully restored during the late Baroque period and refined by Capuchin Monks in the mid-19th Century. This charming setting played host to Susan and Mark’s exchange of wedding vows and wedding rings, witnessed by their nearest and dearest.
After saying ‘I do’ Susan and Mark led their family members from the church into the hotel’s stunning 13th Century Cloister, standing between a vivid blue sky and the sparkling Mediterranean waters and rich with the atmosphere and tranquility of its origins…the perfect setting for photographs of the couple and their guests.Post-ceremony aperitifs were served along the atmospheric ‘Monks’ Walk’, a columned and pergola’ed walkway decorated with vibrant bougainvillea and overlooking the breathtaking Amalfi coastline.
The delicious drinks and nibbles were accompanied by the music of a traditional Neapolitan guitar and mandolin duo.The delightful wedding dinner was served as the sun set across the Amalfi skyline and the coastline lit up with twinkling lights.Susan and Mark’s Amalfi wedding day was created by Lisa Stack of Amore Weddings.
